WhiskeyNiner.com - Better Software for Ham Radio

Welcome to WhiskeyNiner.com! We're just getting started, and there's a lot to accomplish.

I'm developing a new National Repeater Listing focusing initially on the 2m and 70cm bands for handheld (HT) ham radios. The aim here is innovation; currently, we have no "tech" in Ham Radio but that's about to change.

I invite you to join me in this endeavor if you're interested. The WhiskeyNiner site will be open-sourced, allowing contributions from others—more details to come.

WhiskeyNiner will enable you to track and save which repeaters you can transmit to or receive from. You can indicate when you're online on a given repeater, and other users will see this on their app/site, allowing them to reach out if they're nearby. You can also export your repeater range in Chirp format for direct uploading to your radio. Also, repeaters will begin to "blink" when nets are ongoing, and you will see indications on repeaters when there are people live on talking on them.

Additionally, this National Listing will be free for everyone to use. You can access the data via a REST API or download CSVs or JSON files by state—all for free. There's much more to come.
